August 2017 Monthly Beauty Favorites

August Monthly Beauty Favorites:

FACE:

I received this First Aid Beauty Mattifying Gel in my August Ipsy Bag and I've been loving it  ever since. I'm almost out of this sample because I've been using it just about everyday as my face Moisturizer. I love the gel consistency and that there isn't an overpowering scent to it.

My August Ipsy bag was a hit because I'm now mentioning another item I received in it. My skin redness has been ridiculous lately, so I've really been getting a lot of use out of the Aurora Pro Color Corrector in  the shade Pistachio. This is a light green corrector which is great for redness. I mentioned all of that in my previous Ipsy Glam Bag "unboxing" that I will link below. I love this product!

My two go-to foundations that I've been reaching for this past month is the (once again) L'oreal Infalliable Pro-Matte & Maybelline Dream BB Pure.

L'oreal: I love this one on days when I want more of a coverage on my skin and a more matte look. It really does have great coverage and is one of my favorite formulas of foundation.
Shade: 101 Classic Ivory

Maybelline: This one is actually just a BB cream and not an actual "foundation",  but I wear as a foundation over my moisturizer and primer. It is a sheer to light coverage which is normal for BB creams. The fact that it is a BB cream means it helps clear up some of my acne while giving me a slight glow/coverage. I love this for the summer time.
Shade: 110 Light/Medium Sheer Tint

I've had this Nude Rose Sculpt & Glow Palette by Bh Cosmetics for months now, but I just now got it out to try it out. I will have a little "mini Review" on this item soon so I don't want to give too much away, but it did make my monthly favorites!

Tarte has done it again for me. I swear there hasn't been a product by them yet that I haven't enjoyed. This is their highlight in Exposed. This is definitely a buildable highlight, but if lightly used it can be just a natural glow look.

EYES:

These two have been what I've been reaching for a lot this summer. I actually have a "palette review" on one of them and a "tutorial" using the other. I'll link both of those below. I say enough in both blogs about these gorgeous palettes, but I really enjoyed using these this summer and experimenting with more pops of colors in my looks.

I also wanted to start mentioning brushes that I love using in my monthly favorites. This is probably "hands down" my favorite eye brush. This is the Vegan Crease Blender by XO Beauty. It is such good quality and I really have no complaints with any of the brushes I've ordered from this brand. This has just been one of my top favorites for awhile! It blends shadows like a dream. I really recommend XO Beauty brushes.

I've actually sat aside my ABH Brow Definer and have been using this old favorite of mine. This is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Taupe. This used to be the only thing I would use for  my brows until I finally stepped out of my comfort zone to try more of a pencil brow product. I want to branch out more with other brands brow items, but I've been really content with my ABH products.

I haven't been wearing a lot of eyeliner this summer, but for those few days here and there I've been using this Ciate London Fierce Flicks. This is a felt tip liquid liner in a black shade. I really like this one because it goes on smoothly and is really easy to use with the felt tip. This is a good one for "winging" out your liner!

LIPS:

I've had more of a variety of lip products to share. I've used liquid lipstick, gloss, and regular lipstick a lot this past month. These are all great quality and brands I like using. These are a few of the ones I have been wearing most.

Tower 28 Beauty | Makeup

To the brand that has opened my eyes to a creative outlet while thinking of my skin all the time. Tower 28 Beauty has proved to me that you can have fun with makeup while taking your skin into consideration the entire time. While it's still fun to dip into all my other makeup I have found so much joy in my lightweight makeup ways. The shift happened after trying more cream products and Tower 28 has been one of them. I eyed the beauty of this brand for a while and then took the plunge with their cream bronzer, Bronzino in the shade Sun Coast (the lightest to go with my fair complexion), Beach Please Balm Blush in the shade Power Hour , and a couple of their ShineOn Lip Jellies (Almond & Cashew) .  Their creams are balms so you get a full shine to your look. They not only make your skin look glossy and healthy but also vibrant with the pigment. The blushes really pack a punch in pigment and can be worn as a flush of color or built-up. The bronzer is a little less pigmented th

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Alamar Cosmetics Spanglish | Makeup

I've been loving Alamar since it started and I love to see how far they have come. It's an indie brand I will always recommend so to then get their products in Boxycharm or Boxy Pop Up sales its a win win! That's how I got my Spanglish palette . You can already see this is an Ally palette by the purples! It's a gorgeous one with buttery mattes and stunning metallics. I also appreciate the subtle browns while also having the pops of color too. I found the color story pretty, but also odd. It's not one you see a lot but it does work. I have also found myself creating unique shades by mixing shades together. It's definitely a cute summer moment that you won't be disappointed with.  Swatches left to right: Pero Like, Eres Un Show, Tiene Swing, Guao, Ay Que Cute, Jajaja, Muy Excited, & Ponte Hyper.  Did you miss these blogs?  Lizzie McGuire x ColourPop | Makeup KVD Beauty Edge of Reality | Makeup Beautbean x Shroud It's Freakin' Bats | Makeup I als
