Milani Conceal + Perfect // Foundation Review

Milani Conceal + Perfect // Foundation Review

I bought this foundation probably about 6 months ago at Target. A couple days later I went to try it out only to find it was way too dark for my skin. I had bought the shade 00 I believe and it was (at the time) the lightest in the color range. I was super bummed because I had heard that this was an amazing drugstore foundation! Fast forward 3-4 months and they launched new shades! I ordered the palest shade this time being 00A Porcelain and I'm happy to say it matches my skin! I haven't noticed any oxidizing with this foundation either. I have tried this out with several foundation brushes (you may have seen in my recent GRWM), but it just doesn't work out for me. The best coverage and finish I have gotten with this has been with a beauty sponge. I have been using a sponge from the Morphe brand and I'm loving it with this foundation! With one application (about 1 1/2 pumps) I get a good medium coverage, but with a full 2 pumps and the second application around my face it is a high-medium to full coverage look! I was very pleased with that aspect, but this isn't a "natural looking" finish by no means. Really, what full coverage foundation is? You can tell you're wearing a full coverage foundation for sure. I go easy with the powder or I sometimes end up even a little cakey looking. By the 5 hour mark this foundation starts creasing (almost looking like the Jouer foundation I reviewed recently) and breaking down on my skin. There still is ways to make this work though! I have been on a trial and error run with this foundation so let me explain what worked out the best in my opinion. I wanted to use a more hydrating primer, but after using a matte primer with this it lasted on my skin so much longer and looked a lot nicer with less creasing. The sponge really is the way to go with this! I lightly powdered my face and that seemed to help too. I powered more where I was going to be adding more powder products (bronzer, blush, highlight, etc.) because if you don't your foundation may move around while applying those. For todays look I did use two pumps, but I mainly worked up the full coverage over my breakout areas and still left some freckles peeking through to make it a little more natural. With those few tips I can get this foundation to work for a full 8 hour period with minor creasing. This foundation can be tricky and probably wouldn't work great with oily skin or super dry skin, but it's a nice drugstore option to have on hand. I would definitely wear it again, but I wouldn't say this is an absolute favorite of mine.

I give this foundation a 7/10!
You can find this at Ulta for $9.99, but you may have to go a Target or other drugstore that carries Milani to get the newer shades.

Tower 28 Beauty | Makeup

To the brand that has opened my eyes to a creative outlet while thinking of my skin all the time. Tower 28 Beauty has proved to me that you can have fun with makeup while taking your skin into consideration the entire time. While it's still fun to dip into all my other makeup I have found so much joy in my lightweight makeup ways. The shift happened after trying more cream products and Tower 28 has been one of them. I eyed the beauty of this brand for a while and then took the plunge with their cream bronzer, Bronzino in the shade Sun Coast (the lightest to go with my fair complexion), Beach Please Balm Blush in the shade Power Hour , and a couple of their ShineOn Lip Jellies (Almond & Cashew) .  Their creams are balms so you get a full shine to your look. They not only make your skin look glossy and healthy but also vibrant with the pigment. The blushes really pack a punch in pigment and can be worn as a flush of color or built-up. The bronzer is a little less pigmented th

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Alamar Cosmetics Spanglish | Makeup

I've been loving Alamar since it started and I love to see how far they have come. It's an indie brand I will always recommend so to then get their products in Boxycharm or Boxy Pop Up sales its a win win! That's how I got my Spanglish palette . You can already see this is an Ally palette by the purples! It's a gorgeous one with buttery mattes and stunning metallics. I also appreciate the subtle browns while also having the pops of color too. I found the color story pretty, but also odd. It's not one you see a lot but it does work. I have also found myself creating unique shades by mixing shades together. It's definitely a cute summer moment that you won't be disappointed with.  Swatches left to right: Pero Like, Eres Un Show, Tiene Swing, Guao, Ay Que Cute, Jajaja, Muy Excited, & Ponte Hyper.  Did you miss these blogs?  Lizzie McGuire x ColourPop | Makeup KVD Beauty Edge of Reality | Makeup Beautbean x Shroud It's Freakin' Bats | Makeup I als
