ColourPop Sol + Mar // Palette Review

ColourPop Sol + Mar // Palette Review

If you haven't already, check out my first impressions on the ColourPop Sol + Mar Palettes on my YouTube!
Other ColourPop palette reviews will be linked below as well.

I was so excited about the launch on these palettes and bought them on launch day! They're both such cute travel size palettes that are so affordable! I'm not sure if these palettes are limited edition for the summer or not, but wanted to get my review up for you guys incase. The last time I checked they were still available. You can can watch my first impressions on these palettes where I tried one palette on each eye. I honestly was super impressed! You can see the eye looks below. There is pigment, they blended like other ColourPop shadows, and the overall looks were stunning! The shades are intense colors for such an affordable price and I love that so much! Again, watch my first impressions for all those details. Fast forward to me trying each palette out again and I'm not going to lie.. I seen some changes. Lets start with Sol, I didn't see too many changes with this palette. The second look I did with it (all looks will be below) wasn't as vibrant as the first look, but that was just the choice in shades. The look was still a beautiful bronze summer eye and I really liked the outcome!
The Mar palette I however did see some changes. The amazing part is that the darker blue (glitter blue shade, Gridlock) in this palette is stunning! So pigmented, blendable, long-wearing, etc.. You don't see that too often! The matte blue (almost a blueberry shade, Detour) however, was rather hard for me to work with. When it is swatched it is beautiful, but working with a brush just fades the pigment almost completely! I'm going to have to try using it just with my finger to see if the outcome is better, but I still hoped a matte shade like that would work well with a brush. The other mattes and metallics/shimmers were stunning in this palette like the Sol palette. Then I tried using  the more orange (Boozy) shade in this palette and was super confused by it. The formula is so odd, not very pigmented, and overall I had a hard time with it. The shade above it (El Rey) I found out is about the same way, but after "scraping off" the top layer of that shade the pigment is there now. I tried with the orange shade and no luck. Besides the couple of shades that have odd formulas I still love this palette as well.
Final thoughts are that I love both of them.. I personally think they're worth the $12 and would recommend them if you're growing a collection of palettes. If you're just looking for a couple staple palettes, I would honestly recommend other ColourPop palettes before these though. That is just so you have the same quality with each shade in the palette and you get good use out of each shade! I will continue to use these palettes, but I do feel like ColourPop should have spent more time formulating these shades, especially with how gorgeous they are!

ColourPop Sol + Mar Palettes are a 8/10 for me!
You can gets yours for $12 each at ColourPop!

Tower 28 Beauty | Makeup

To the brand that has opened my eyes to a creative outlet while thinking of my skin all the time. Tower 28 Beauty has proved to me that you can have fun with makeup while taking your skin into consideration the entire time. While it's still fun to dip into all my other makeup I have found so much joy in my lightweight makeup ways. The shift happened after trying more cream products and Tower 28 has been one of them. I eyed the beauty of this brand for a while and then took the plunge with their cream bronzer, Bronzino in the shade Sun Coast (the lightest to go with my fair complexion), Beach Please Balm Blush in the shade Power Hour , and a couple of their ShineOn Lip Jellies (Almond & Cashew) .  Their creams are balms so you get a full shine to your look. They not only make your skin look glossy and healthy but also vibrant with the pigment. The blushes really pack a punch in pigment and can be worn as a flush of color or built-up. The bronzer is a little less pigmented th

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Alamar Cosmetics Spanglish | Makeup

I've been loving Alamar since it started and I love to see how far they have come. It's an indie brand I will always recommend so to then get their products in Boxycharm or Boxy Pop Up sales its a win win! That's how I got my Spanglish palette . You can already see this is an Ally palette by the purples! It's a gorgeous one with buttery mattes and stunning metallics. I also appreciate the subtle browns while also having the pops of color too. I found the color story pretty, but also odd. It's not one you see a lot but it does work. I have also found myself creating unique shades by mixing shades together. It's definitely a cute summer moment that you won't be disappointed with.  Swatches left to right: Pero Like, Eres Un Show, Tiene Swing, Guao, Ay Que Cute, Jajaja, Muy Excited, & Ponte Hyper.  Did you miss these blogs?  Lizzie McGuire x ColourPop | Makeup KVD Beauty Edge of Reality | Makeup Beautbean x Shroud It's Freakin' Bats | Makeup I als
