Beauty Favorites // January 2018

Beauty Favorites // January 2018

I wanted to get back in the swing of my "beauty favorites", but I must say this month doesn't have much. Two weeks of this past month I was sick and wore little to no makeup. For the other two weeks I've been trying out new things, but haven't worn items enough to put in my favorites. The products below are some of my loved items that I have been wearing again or that I've tried for a little while now and wanted to share. I hope you enjoy! What are your January favorites?

Face:

I can't get enough of this palette. I've been using this for months, but as soon as I started wearing makeup again I had to have this in my life! The contour shade is perfect for me and the highlights are stunning! The side that is showing is my go-to side. The other side is a cream contour (I've honestly haven't tried yet) and two more gorgeous highlights that are just to dark for my skin tone.

I'm getting into those glowy spring looks so this has been my go-to foundation. I have reached for the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation a couple of times, but I've been loving this one again! I will have a foundation review (because I realized I never posted one for this foundation) coming real soon!

I've used this a lot as a "primer" spray (then added actual primer on top of that) before, but for the past couple of weeks I've been using it as a setting spray and I'm really liking it! My makeup wears great and I've actually been reaching for this more than my Mac Fix +.

I received this highlighting brush in my December Ipsy Glam Bag and at first I didn't know if I would enjoy it because I like a highlighting brush that is a little bigger and denser. I really like this brush though! Its soft, fluffy, and still applies my highlight amazingly!

Brows & Eyes:

I've been using this for about a month now and it works great! I really would compare this to the ABH Brow Definer, which is my favorite! The pencil end is about the same shape as the brow definer and applies just about the same.

I got this palette in my FabFitFun Winter box and I've been playing with this palette ever since. I've been going for darker or brighter lips depending on my mood, but these neutral shadows work with any lip! Without saying too much (palette review is coming soon), I've been enjoying this palette!

I just posted a review on this last Friday (Review) so I won't repeat myself too much, but this has been my go-to mascara and is so worth every penny! I will be purchasing the full-size once this one is used up.

 Lips:

Kiss Me Lippies (Madrid & Venice)

These are from the December Kiss Me Subscription and these are the lighter liquid lipsticks that I have been reaching for. I love the formula (you probably already know that) and how well they wear on my lips. These shades are so pretty!

Okay so I've only worn this a couple of times, but I HAD to mention it. I want more shades and will definitely try this out some more before I can give a full honest review, but so far I'm loving it!

I also just reviewed this gorgeous lipstick duo (Review). These shades are so pretty, yet so bright, while still being wearable. They're so creamy, pigmented, and long-lasting for such a creamy lipstick.

Amethyst | Gemstone Series

Amethyst | Gemstone Series  Today is Amethyst. I have to say I started this look a little late in the day and was rushing the beautiful golden hour to get this makeup on and get decent pictures before the sunset.  *If this is the first gemstone look you have seen the others will be linked below, but the idea is creating looks based on gemstones every week and the challenge (not really) using the ColourPop So Jaded palette to create the eye look.  ✖️Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Gel (Blonde) ✖️Eyes: Mac Cosmetics Paint Pot (Painterly) ColourPop So Jaded Palette (Ametrine, Flourite, & Amethyst) Tarte Cosmetics Big Ego Mascara I started the look with the Ametrine shade right above my crease and blended it out with a blending brush. Then I took the Flourite shade on my inner corner and brow bone as my highlight.  Then, of course, the Amethyst shade in the palette. I patted it on the lid space with my finger before blending it in my actual ...

Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow Pro Palette (Nude) Review

Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow Pro Palette (Nude) Review You may have seen that I received this Doucce palette in my FabFitFun Winter Box . I have actually tried one of their single pans of eyeshadow from a subscription in the past and I did like it and thought it was super pigmented! First of all, I love how compact and cool this freematic palette is. There is small magnets on the back of each shade and the inside of the actual palette is a magnetic board like a Z-Palette. Then I want to mention how I do really like the color layout of this. It is a pretty neutral layout and has shades that everyone has, but the undertone of these are just so different to me. In a good way for sure! They do have other palette options on their website, along with a "build your own palette" option. I will eventually review the highlight (also a bonus!) that came with this, but I want to talk mainly about the 8 eyeshadows. They're just like the single one I received and is very pigm...

Nomad Cosmetics Hudson Valley Palette | Makeup

It had been too long since I got a palette from Nomad Cosmetics . They have one of the best formulas and I absolutely love when they do darker/fall color stories. I still use the Haunted Europe palette all the time and after using this one I know I'll be just as obsessed with it too. This palette is heavy on mattes with only three metallics. I do love these metallics. The formula is buttery and so pigmented plus the shades really compliment the mattes in this unique color story. The mattes are where it is at. They have some of the best mattes ever! Plus these shades?! You have a neutral side with a touch of greens that are all so toned down and wearable. But you also have those beautiful bold fall colors on the other side. While this was a fall launch and a palette I will be wearing every fall I'm sure. I found this palette to be incredible for the holiday season too. I loved the everyday neutral looks to the glam holiday looks that were perfect for holiday outings. The pigme...
