Yes, Oh Yas! Box Try-On (February 2018)

Yes, Oh Yas! Box Try-On (February 2018)

If you didn't know already, I posted my first beauty Youtube video a couple of days ago. I've been so excited and so nervous all together! It is definitely a lot of work! I unboxed my first ever Yes, Oh Yas Box and I will link that below if you want to check it out before seeing the rest of this try-on because I will be using products from that subscription in todays look. Bare with me while I figure out and learn how to improve my videos quality, sound, lens work, and editing. The picture wasn't perfect in this video and the lens wanted to stay focused on my background instead of me. I may have one more video like so (I'll figure this out eventually!), but hopefully things will start looking up from there. I would say it wasn't as bad as I thought my "first awkward youtube video" would be.

Yes, Oh Yas! box is a monthly $12.99 +shipping beauty subscription. There isn't a certain amount of items each month, but they post sneak peaks for up coming months all the time on their instagram (@yesohyas). I also received a card in this box explaining their Customer Loyalty Program. Every 5th cycle you receive a free gift. So after 5 months of receiving their box you just email them and they will include a free gift with your next box. If you're interested in this subscription you can use my code "ALLISONHUNT" at checkout and get 10% off your first box! https://yesohyas.com

Products Used for this Try-on:
Too Faced HangoveRX Primer
Tarte Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation (porcelain)
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (fair)
Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder
Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer (park ave princess)

Product #1 from Yes, Oh Yas
Crown Nova Palette $49.99
I used the top highlight (Monet) and the top blush (Adele) in this look.
They both blended nicely, but the highlight was still a little too yellow toned for my skin shade. The other highlight (Cyrene) is gorgeous, but too deep of a shade for my skin tone. The blushes are both pretty shades, however I mentioned in the unboxing that the lighter blush was damaged a little while being delivered and caused a mess on the inside of this palette. Thankfully, I was able to pack it back into the pan. The blushes don't have as much pigment as the highlights, but I'm okay with subtle blushes.

For my eyes today, I used Primrose as my base shade and Minx in my crease. The shade Luxor is on my lids and I highlighted my very inner corner and brow bone with the shade Cara. The last shade I used to throw a pop into the look was the gorgeous metallic green shade Celeste just along my lower lash line. These blended well and had no fall-out. The pigment wasn't the absolute best, but they were buildable.
I used the Crown Eyeliner (brown end) that came with the palette in my water line. This irritated my eyes a little bit, you can kind of tell below in my pictures.

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil (2)
Tarte Tarteist Mascara
Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray

Product #2 from Yes, Oh Yas
Sheree Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick (Chic Nude) $17.99
This formula dries down slowly, but once it is dry it is there to stay! This is pretty long-wearing, but I can say it does wear off pretty quickly in the lip line (where your mouth opens) I'm assuming because that area stays wet or damp and it just wears off. This is a pretty pale shade for me and not something I would normally rock, but I didn't mind it with this look.
I didn't get to try out the lipsticks in this palette since I wore the liquid lipstick, but a full palette review will be on the blog once I have more time to try these all out!

      Brushes Used in this Try-on:
Real Techniques Beauty Sponge (foundation, concealer, & powder)
Morphe G5 (powder)
XO Beauty Vegan Bronzer (bronzer)
Luxie 504 (blush)
SLMissGlam L36 (highlight)
Morphe RG24 (crease)
Royal & Langnickel Crease/Smudge (highlight with smudge side)
finger (lid)
Vera Mona (lower lash line)

Product #3 from Yes, Oh Yas

This mask is clear and has a shimmer to it. It feels almost like a gel moisturizer at first, but then turns tacky as you wear it. I don't have pictures of me wearing this mask, but I did try it out last night. It was cooling at first and then really did turn "hot" on my skin. They really do mean "heat powered" with this mask. It wasn't a burning feeling and didn't hurt, but was definitely a different feeling. I will keep trying this mask out and have it in an upcoming skincare review blog.

This has one of those pumps that you press down on and the product comes out the center.

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018  You may already know, but I moved all of my subscriptions to my beauty channel: AllyBrianne   You can check out my unboxings there of all of my monthly and seasonal subscriptions.  The reason I'm posting this blog today is because I just got this months Ricky's Cult Crushes in the mail last week. I planned on filming a quick unboxing to post Sunday, but my weekend got away from me so here we are. This is only my second month receiving this subscription. I'm up in the air about it honestly. Last months ( Ricky's Cult Crushes // April 2018 ) was a good box, but sadly the pans in the eyeshadow palette kept falling out! You can see all that business in the video! I was disappointed because the shadows were great.. The packaging not so much.  If you don't know what  Ricky's Cult Crushes is... It is a $11 (now $14, I'll explain) monthly subscription that has mainly beauty items. This is a subscription throug

August Ipsy Glam Bag

If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample sized beauty products. I've been getting one for two and an half  years  now. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I don't know what took so long this month whether it was Ipsy or just USP
