Storybook Cosmetics Little Briar Rose // Makeup Monday

Storybook Cosmetics Little Briar Rose // Makeup Monday

This may be my very first Storybook Cosmetics palette, but I have been eyeing this brand for years now. I'm always intrigued, but I guess it's the fear of trying something new and not knowing if I will like it or not. Their packaging is so adorable and I fall in love with each launch. This was a HUGE deal for me when Boxycharm announced we would be getting a Storybook Cosmetics palette in our boxes! This does seem to be a limited supply of palettes that they curated with Boxycharm, but last time I checked the website they still had palettes available and at a discount price if you're interested! This wasn't the only one. This is the bigger palette they offered for BoxyLuxe, but the regular Boxycharm boxes had a smaller palette. I believe one was Red Riding Hood and one was Robin Hood. Both super cute and I may end up caving and picking those up with the discount. Haha!
So I do have to say my First Impressions of this palette was great. I had no issues with the mattes blending and the metallic I added was gorgeous. The second go-around which you can see in my 4 Looks 1 Palette video I had other thoughts with the mattes I used being patchy and not blending well. The third time I tried to go more simple with the one matte blown across my entire eye and then I took one of the metallics (*spoiler* the silver) and used it as a wing liner moment. It turned out cute, but again it was more simple. The 4th look (the last one I have done with this palette since) was mainly a bold blue look for Pantone's Color of the Year 2020 and it too was a metallic... I wish I could speak more on the mattes, but I felt the simpler I made the looks the better with this palette. I am still very intrigued to check out another one of theirs to play up the mattes and see if it was just this palette or maybe just the dark shade in this palette not pressed right (or to my liking) besides that I have to say the packaging is one of the most beautiful and creative ones I have seen on the beauty market. I can't wait to see future launches from them and hope to try another one of their palettes soon for an update. This palette has 5 mattes and 7 metallics which I like since I did enjoy the metallics a lot. I also wanted to point out how well these shades go together too. It's very simple, but elegant which is perfect for this theme.

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018  You may already know, but I moved all of my subscriptions to my beauty channel: AllyBrianne   You can check out my unboxings there of all of my monthly and seasonal subscriptions.  The reason I'm posting this blog today is because I just got this months Ricky's Cult Crushes in the mail last week. I planned on filming a quick unboxing to post Sunday, but my weekend got away from me so here we are. This is only my second month receiving this subscription. I'm up in the air about it honestly. Last months ( Ricky's Cult Crushes // April 2018 ) was a good box, but sadly the pans in the eyeshadow palette kept falling out! You can see all that business in the video! I was disappointed because the shadows were great.. The packaging not so much.  If you don't know what  Ricky's Cult Crushes is... It is a $11 (now $14, I'll explain) monthly subscription that has mainly beauty items. This is a subscription throug

August Ipsy Glam Bag

If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample sized beauty products. I've been getting one for two and an half  years  now. I don't know what took so long this month whether it was Ipsy or just USP
