Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Thunder // Makeup Monday

Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Thunder // Makeup Monday

Although this palette is not actually available on Dominique Cosmetics I wanted to still share it since it's the very first DC palette I have tried. I link her Celestial Storm palette above since it's the full-size palette from that launch... A baby Celestial Storm. You can check out my four looks with this palette, but I wanted to share the swatches and my overall thoughts of this formula. I'm still not completely sure if this palette is just like the others or not. I don't want to come off as hating this palette because I really don't. I struggled with shades for sure, but overall really like this palette. The mattes I find a little difficult to work with mainly so with Zero Gravity the charcoal grey shade. I used it in 3/4 looks in my video and had troubles each time. It reminded me a little of the Subculture fiasco. I find the mattes and metallics to both be pretty dry and think that is part of the issue. When using the warm tone mattes they weren't my favorite again, but it wasn't as bad as the grey.
The metallics come off as crumbly and dry, but really do apply extremely beautiful! They, of course, were best applied with my finger but were just as good as many metallics in my collection. What I really liked about the metallics, although they are dry, they have unique looks to them. It's almost a duo-chrome effect. The black has pink shifts to it, the orange shifts red, and the off white is like a sheer layer of sparkles.
This mini palette offers 5 mattes and 3 metallics, but the Celestial Storm palette has 6 mattes and 6 metallics. I had originally thought this was a separate palette from the Celestial Storm and just geared towards that same theme, but these shades are in fact in the actual Celestial Storm palette.  I think it is cool that Boxycharm included it, but I was more interested in the full palette with the added shades. You guys know how I am with my purples... Ha!
The color story alone is gorgeous and her palettes spark my attention every single launch so I definitely want to invest in more of her palettes soon to compare the formula.

Swatches left to right: Eternal Light, Fireball, Black Matter, Zero Gravity, Lucid Dream, Storm Dust, Lunar Eclipse, & Mystic Ice

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018  You may already know, but I moved all of my subscriptions to my beauty channel: AllyBrianne   You can check out my unboxings there of all of my monthly and seasonal subscriptions.  The reason I'm posting this blog today is because I just got this months Ricky's Cult Crushes in the mail last week. I planned on filming a quick unboxing to post Sunday, but my weekend got away from me so here we are. This is only my second month receiving this subscription. I'm up in the air about it honestly. Last months ( Ricky's Cult Crushes // April 2018 ) was a good box, but sadly the pans in the eyeshadow palette kept falling out! You can see all that business in the video! I was disappointed because the shadows were great.. The packaging not so much.  If you don't know what  Ricky's Cult Crushes is... It is a $11 (now $14, I'll explain) monthly subscription that has mainly beauty items. This is a subscription throug

August Ipsy Glam Bag

If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample sized beauty products. I've been getting one for two and an half  years  now. I don't know what took so long this month whether it was Ipsy or just USP
