ColourPop Pretty Fresh // Makeup Monday

ColourPop Pretty Fresh // Makeup Monday

When I say this collection excited me... I mean it was the real deal. Every spring and summer I'm looking for a lightweight and light coverage glowy product that will last in the heat. I hate a full face when the heat makes me melt. Although this line launched when I wouldn't use it a lot (in the fall) I actually did find myself using it day to day for all mom things. Since I did buy these when they launched I have been trying them since October and I have a lot of thoughts so stay with me.
I want to first say this collection comes with a tinted moisturizer, hydrating primer, hydrating setting spray, and a sponge! I was honestly excited about all of these because all of them are products I'm all for plus it's ColourPop so the formula is going to be amazing with an incredible price tag.

This tinted moisturizer is just what I wanted in a lightweight, just enough coverage, and such a dewy skin look! I got the shade Fair 1N so like usual I'm the lightest shade in the range. Ha! I love that they offer such a wide range of shades plus different undertones too. The formula literally makes me glow and wears decently with and without a primer. Though I do find myself liking it with the Pretty Fresh Primer more than on its own. It is lightweight, applies beautifully with a sponge, and gives just enough coverage to even out my complexion while making it look like I'm barely wearing any makeup. The packaging is really nice as well. I like the tube aspect, but really love the pump added to it. Since this is a tinted moisturizer I wanted to also point out that my skin stays hydrated while wearing this. It does have a dewy finish that I love to keep, but for longer wear, it does work with a light powder too. For longer wear, I like to at least powder my t-zone so I'm not an oil slick in 2 hours.
You may be wondering why it took so long to review this product... You can check out my full First Impressions on these products, but after a couple weeks of nonstop use because I freaking love this product... I realized I was obsessively breaking out and nothing was helping. I blamed it on Halloween makeup because liquid latex doesn't go hand in hand with my skin, but after Halloween makeup was all said and done and I was continuing to break out... I realized the only other new thing I added to my base routine was these products. Further looking into it and as you can see the packaging on the primer/setting spray set has coconut on it. In fact, the whole line is made with coconut oil which I normally tend to break out from. I was devastated. The products I was falling in love with and were complete game changers for me were breaking me out. I decided to discontinue use of course, but I then wanted to start adding them back into my day-to-day routine one at a time to see if they all broke me out or if it was just a certain one. I found out during that time that these products also all work great with other brands/products too! Unfortunately, it wasn't until I added the tinted moisturizer into the mix that I started sightly breaking out again. UGH. I love the other two, but I can easily find another hydrating primer and setting spray... This tinted moisturizer was just too perfect to be true. I will continue to use mine occasionally and will most likely have it handy until I find another I love (recommendations welcome!) to use when one is needed/wanted but this was probably the biggest beauty bummer for me in 2019.

These two are only $12 but you can buy them as a set like I did which I linked above. The set is only $25 and comes with the sponge too! The sponge is really nice. It's super soft while still feeling like great quality and dense enough to apply my tinted moisturizer (and other foundations) extremely well! The primer and setting spray like I mentioned above work well, but out of all the moisturizer is my favorite. Next in line would be the primer though. It is a hyaluronic primer that keeps my skin hydrated, primed, and tacky for moisturizer/foundation application. It has worked incredible with all products I have tried with it and helps give more of a dewy look with most of them. My makeup stays well when I prime with this as well. Although the bottle is a lightweight plastic it comes with a pump too. The setting spray is more of a mist, but it is super dewy so a little goes a long way. I love this to set a matte foundation because it helps melt the matte look in while not drying me out! Since it is made with hyaluronic acid as well it helps keep my skin more fresh looking and hydrated. The spray is a light mist and really nice at that. They have both been great and when I used them on their own without the tinted moisturizer I never noticed any strange breakouts so I think I'm in the clear with these two.

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018  You may already know, but I moved all of my subscriptions to my beauty channel: AllyBrianne   You can check out my unboxings there of all of my monthly and seasonal subscriptions.  The reason I'm posting this blog today is because I just got this months Ricky's Cult Crushes in the mail last week. I planned on filming a quick unboxing to post Sunday, but my weekend got away from me so here we are. This is only my second month receiving this subscription. I'm up in the air about it honestly. Last months ( Ricky's Cult Crushes // April 2018 ) was a good box, but sadly the pans in the eyeshadow palette kept falling out! You can see all that business in the video! I was disappointed because the shadows were great.. The packaging not so much.  If you don't know what  Ricky's Cult Crushes is... It is a $11 (now $14, I'll explain) monthly subscription that has mainly beauty items. This is a subscription throug

August Ipsy Glam Bag

I don't know what took so long this month whether it was Ipsy or just USP
