Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask | Skincare

Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask | Skincare

Do you also hope you end up loving Glow Recipe products because the packaging is so cute too? Just me?  Ha! For real though.. I love how cute it is plus I found out recently that they have a recycling program. The jars you can repurpose, but you can actually send the plastic parts back to them. Amazing skincare and sustainability in the mix? Yes, please! This product I received in Boxycharm and just like many I sometimes cringe when I read retinol. Don't get me wrong I'm all for some aging prevention, but at what price? Some in the past have been way too intense for my skin and I feel like I stress too much about the protection of my skin against UVA and UVB rays. Any product with "retinol" in any shape, size, form.. I beg you to protect your skin with SPF. Retinol is best used at night so it works out to apply SPF in the morning. It's really important to remember.

This product is a sleeping mask and when I say mask.. I mean it is a thick leave on overnight cream. You wash your face like normal in the morning to take it off. Although, you can use it as a flash facial as well.  It is a super thick cream and my dry skin was hyped about this! It doesn't really have a scent to it which is a plus for many. As you can see in the swatch picture it is faintly green (more like a light sage or something), but not as bright as the packaging. I find avocado products to be hydrating, cooling, and calming so I wondered how this product would be with it and retinol combined. This is honestly the most gentle retinol product I have used. Not only do I wake up with super hydrated skin, but it feels so smooth and plump. I've been using this for the past two months. I usually slowly add retinol more and more into my routine so I started with one night a week and have worked my way up to just about every night recently. Sometimes I stick to every other night and that seems to be a great routine with this. The hydration alone I think would be fine to skip every other night. It is super gentle so even if you work your way up to every night I don't see it harming your skin whatsoever. Besides the retinol you have the avocado that has vitamin C and E that are going to brighten the skin and also help with fine lines/wrinkles. It also nourishes and calms the skin. This product has  PHA that works as the exfoliator and matcha which is known to be super calming and soothing to the skin. Plus the other great things about this brand and what they stand for makes me so excited to have a product like this that works so well for my tricky skin. I'm in love and have since been trying some more products from Glow Recipe that I will review soon. XO

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018  You may already know, but I moved all of my subscriptions to my beauty channel: AllyBrianne   You can check out my unboxings there of all of my monthly and seasonal subscriptions.  The reason I'm posting this blog today is because I just got this months Ricky's Cult Crushes in the mail last week. I planned on filming a quick unboxing to post Sunday, but my weekend got away from me so here we are. This is only my second month receiving this subscription. I'm up in the air about it honestly. Last months ( Ricky's Cult Crushes // April 2018 ) was a good box, but sadly the pans in the eyeshadow palette kept falling out! You can see all that business in the video! I was disappointed because the shadows were great.. The packaging not so much.  If you don't know what  Ricky's Cult Crushes is... It is a $11 (now $14, I'll explain) monthly subscription that has mainly beauty items. This is a subscription throug

August Ipsy Glam Bag

If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample sized beauty products. I've been getting one for two and an half  years  now. I don't know what took so long this month whether it was Ipsy or just USP
