Makeup Monday // JSC Jawbreaker + Mini Breaker

Makeup Monday // JSC Jawbreaker + Mini Breaker

I wasn't sure if I'd bring palettes back to my blog or not since they're discussed so much on my channel, but for sake of a pretty photo-op moment, I'm doing this. Ha!
I'm usually over the moon for every Jeffree Star Cosmetics launch and this one wasn't any different. I feel like only Jeffree could make a palette this full of insane colors and get away with it. With that being said when opening the Jawbreaker palette I can honestly say I did feel a little overwhelmed which is weird because I'm not one to shy away from color. I think it can still be challenging finding the right shades to put together to complement each other, but I can say once you dip into the shades that feeling goes away quickly. It's not as intimidating as you think it is. I created four colorful while still bring wearable looks with the Jawbreaker and had fun each day picking the palette up. I love being excited to do my makeup each day, but the feeling of already wanting to do your makeup again right after doing a full face says a lot to me. I had this feeling every day with this palette

This palette has a price point to make you cringe of $58, but with that, you get 24 shades in this palette (17 mattes and 7 metallics) that are insanely gorgeous! You have pastels, neutrals, and also deeper shades that are still pretty colorful in looks. You can see all 4 looks I created with this palette on my channel.

Since both of these palettes perform the same way the review on both of them will be the same when it comes to formula, but I want to mention the Mini Breaker before jumping into those details.
This palette I actually had a harder time with than the Jawbreaker. When you're trying to create different looks that you don't see often it can be tricky when given only 9 shades, but normally it isn't an issue for me. The problem is 4 of the shades are purples so it doesn't give you a lot to play off of.
The good thing is I love purples so I can rock purple eyeshadows every day, but the hard part was finding ways to use less purple in the looks for my channel while still including them. The shades are still incredibly stunning in this palette, but I feel like this is a palette that I will reach for certain shades every time. I mention in my video on this palette how much I love the shade Oral, but oh my God, that is hands down one of my top favorites from both palettes put together! It is a duo-chrome with a purple hue. Gorgeous! This palette is his first with only 9 shades and retails for $28.
This palette like I said, has 9 shadows (5 mattes, 1 duo-chrome, 2 metallics, and 1 matte that has some glitter specks to it) that still performs pretty decently together while being colorful shades.

While I hands down think these palettes are worth every penny I still wanted to mention the formula on these because it's worth mentioning. The mattes blow me away with each palette he releases. They're pigmented with one dip in but blend like a dream with little to no fallout. I do experience a little kickback in the pan, but nothing too terrible. The metallics are all so buttery. I love using my finger to apply shimmer/metallics because I get the most payoff that way and that's with any palette. These shades will give you amazing results regardless of how you like to apply shadows. They glide on effortlessly and blend together with the mattes incredibly. Which I also wanted to mention the mattes blending with mattes since that is sometimes an issue some brands/palettes. His have always blended well for me. I believe I've had a purple shade in the Alien palette go patchy with another shade, but once testing it out again I didn't have that issue again. This is a no brainer for me... If you love color you will absolutely not regret this buy.

I also had to get a Velour Lip Scrub and Velour Liquid Lipstick from the Summer collection so I made sure to add them to my photoshoot, but I got the Lemon Sucker scrub and the shade Fully Nude from the lipstick line.

Happy Makeup Monday! What products are you loving?

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018  You may already know, but I moved all of my subscriptions to my beauty channel: AllyBrianne   You can check out my unboxings there of all of my monthly and seasonal subscriptions.  The reason I'm posting this blog today is because I just got this months Ricky's Cult Crushes in the mail last week. I planned on filming a quick unboxing to post Sunday, but my weekend got away from me so here we are. This is only my second month receiving this subscription. I'm up in the air about it honestly. Last months ( Ricky's Cult Crushes // April 2018 ) was a good box, but sadly the pans in the eyeshadow palette kept falling out! You can see all that business in the video! I was disappointed because the shadows were great.. The packaging not so much.  If you don't know what  Ricky's Cult Crushes is... It is a $11 (now $14, I'll explain) monthly subscription that has mainly beauty items. This is a subscription throug

August Ipsy Glam Bag

If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample sized beauty products. I've been getting one for two and an half  years  now. I don't know what took so long this month whether it was Ipsy or just USP
