Marigold // Floral Series

Marigold // Floral Series

I've always loved "inspo" looks based off series and I've watched plenty of videos of them, as well as seen many on Instagram. I wanted to try my hand at one. Although, I think creating looks from shows/movies for inspiration is really cool, I still wanted to keep my first "series" a little simpler. I've seen so many series of gemstones and really like the idea of it, but instead I thought I would try to do one that I personally haven't seen before. Even though I'm highly sure a floral one has been done. I want to keep the inspo just from the actual image of a flower and create a look based off of it!
A series is such a fun idea and it really is a great way to get creative, especially on the days when you feel repetitive with your makeup and want a change.

I have made it to my 5th and final look for this floral series. If you have followed along, thank you so much! If not, you can still check out my others (linked at the bottom) that I have created the past couple of months.

Today I wanted to play with more warm tones. The color orange stuck out the most for what I needed in this series so I went with these beautiful Spun Orange Marigolds. The main color and inspo is coming from the orange, but with accents of yellow and red. I wanted to keep this look more fun than wearable. This look was literally piling shade on shade over and over, blending until my hand hurt, and getting creative with a red wing.

Like I said before, this was just a fun creative look that came to mind when looking at the flower image. I automatically wanted to play with orange shades, add a touch of yellow, and incorporate red into the look. Before I even started the eyes I thought about a red wing. Since  I didn't have a liquid liner in a red shade I used a liquid lipstick I had on hand. I thought it would wrap up the eye look nicely or be a complete clashing fail. I went with my gut and the fact that this is an inspo look anyways. That was what I was inspired to create!

This look was a whole lot of blending and a whole lot of adding/piling up shades. So I will run down what shades I used in each palette, but again I just added and blended until I was happy with the outcome.

* From the Jaclyn Hill palette I used silk creme (top row third from the left) as my base/transition shade to begin the look before using bright colors. I then added the shade creamscicle (second row first shade on the left) to the crease as well to start the warm yellow/orange shades.

** I went in with the Bright Lights Palette next. I added brûlée to the crease and lit, which is such a nice neon yellow, to my inner corner and lid.

*** The star of the show for the orange shades is most definitely devil from the Saint & Sinner palette. I blended that shade over and over. I also went back in with previous orange shades to add those different color affects to this look and ended by adding just a tad more of the yellow shade to my inner corner since we lost a lot of it with all the blending.

**** Finishing the look with the red wing (although they say the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks are "eye safe", use them at your own risk. I had no issues with them, but I also didn't get them in my eye) was the perfect touch to throw a red balance into the look. I was super happy with it.

Skincare & Makeup Haul

Skincare & Makeup Haul I've never done a "haul" on my blog before, but I thought it would be a cool idea plus it would be a sneak peak of things that I'll be trying out for future reviews.  Skincare: I have been loving trying out new skincare items and although my skincare bin is a little full at the moment there was a few things I was running low on and a few things that I couldn't pass on!  I was running low on both makeup removing wipes and micellar water, so I picked these up at Target. I often use a moisturizer from the Simple brand, but I've never tried their wipes or micellar water before. It's cheaper in the long run buying the two pack of wipes, but I do hope these work good!  My nose has once again started getting clogged with blackheads. I've been trying out a few different foundations and wearing makeup just about everyday and my skin just isn't use to that. After taking a two week break from makeup a...

July Monthly Beauty Favorites

July Monthly Beauty Favorites  I've been keeping my fingernails pretty naturally and trying to get them more healthier and longer looking, but I got this Kokie nail polish in an Ipsy bag a couple months ago and I've been using it a lot this summer on my toes. It's a really pretty periwinkle color. This is in the shade Heavenly. I actually bought this awhile back and used it (at least the body mist, as you can tell) so much. I've recently started using them again and have fallen in love with the scent once again. It's a mixture of vanilla and coconut. Those are my favorites!   FACE: For face care, I've still been using this  tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Gel Cleanser . I absolutely  love this stuff! This is a "must have" and "holy grail" for me! It has helped my face problems (I still have some issues of course, but it's improved since using this religiously) so much and doesn't dry my skin out too much a...

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018  You may already know, but I moved all of my subscriptions to my beauty channel: AllyBrianne   You can check out my unboxings there of all of my monthly and seasonal subscriptions.  The reason I'm posting this blog today is because I just got this months Ricky's Cult Crushes in the mail last week. I planned on filming a quick unboxing to post Sunday, but my weekend got away from me so here we are. This is only my second month receiving this subscription. I'm up in the air about it honestly. Last months ( Ricky's Cult Crushes // April 2018 ) was a good box, but sadly the pans in the eyeshadow palette kept falling out! You can see all that business in the video! I was disappointed because the shadows were great.. The packaging not so much.  If you don't know what  Ricky's Cult Crushes is... It is a $11 (now $14, I'll explain) monthly subscription that has mainly beauty items. This is a subscription throug...
