Mini Reviews: Ulta Beauty, Urban Decay, Benefit, XO Beauty, & Wet n Wild

Mini Reviews: Ulta Beauty, Urban Decay, Benefit, XO Beauty, & Wet n Wild

I've been looking for some new brow products, but this is never an easy task for me. The shade of red hair I have makes it super hard. My natural brows are white with just a slight tint of red to them. With other makeup on you literally can't see them. The brows are a must-have done every time I do my makeup. I fell in love with ABH brow powder duo and that is strictly what I used for years. Luckily even though my brows are light, they're very full. Powder did the trick for awhile until I was ready to branch out to a new product; which is my beloved ABH Brow Definer. I've really stuck with this brand because I found a shade that works for me. The blonde shades are normally too light or are just an off shade for my skin tone, and the shades that claim to be for "redheads" is normally too dark and actually for a deeper auburn shade. I got this brow tint from Ulta Beauty in one of their gift bags for spending a certain amount ($) at one time. I got a couple of the medium shades and passed them along to my sister in law, but I kept this light shade to try out. Sadly, it sat in my "new" drawer for too long. I finally broke this out and I love it! It works just like my powder tinting my brows, but the plus with this product is that it also sets them in place like a brow gel. The shade is a little deeper than my usual (ABH Taupe), but with a few run throughs with a spoolie it looks pretty good. This product is still not what I reach for the most, but I love how fast this is to apply and I also like having bolder brows for the fall time. You can't beat the price of $10 either!

I've wanted to try this mascara out ever since the hype started once it launched. This is not the typical wand that I like, but I actually really do like using this mascara. I'm more impressed wearing this one than their Perversion mascara, which is another that I like. It didn't give me huge lashes, but still coated them well and the wand was easy to use with no eye-stabbings. This is a mascara that I will definitely be using for awhile. I would consider repurchasing this, too!

I've mentioned this in a favorites before, but now that I've used it so many times I really wanted to share my thought on it. First of all, I love the cream-to-powder formula of this. I've worn this under and on top of my face powders with no issues. This is one of those products that applies darker and kind of freaks you out at first, but once you blend it out you may even apply a little more. I do like that aspect because it's buildable. I apply with a beauty blender because I get the best pigment and results that way. I feel like a brush wipes too much of the product away. I personally loved this for the summer time and feel like I may not be reaching for it all too much during the fall. I'm really into more matte bronzers or matte contour shades for this time of the year. I can tell you that this will be another go-to item come next spring/summer! This is such a beautiful summer bronze/contour shade. I have very fair skin so that's how it is for me. I was very happy to step out of my comfort zone and try out a cream contour product, and this product has made me want to try out more cream face items!

I wouldn't know about this New Zealand brand if it wasn't for the fact that I've watched Shannon's videos forever now. I'm always so happy for her, but also so excited when she launches more products! XO Beauty is now branching into makeup products (instead of just brushes and falsies) and I had to get my hands on her new stuff (more reviews to come)! This is one of her highlight shades. She only has two shades as of now, but I believe they're working on shades for deeper skin tones. These are more of a glow powder instead of a blinding highlight. These do build up and they're much more intense using a damp brush, but if you want a natural glow this is the item for you. They really are stunning and not something I have found in other products. I love blinding highlighters, but for an everyday look I like a simple glow. The let down with this is they're a New Zealand brand, and if you're in the US like myself then the shipping time feels like forever! Especially when you're so excited to get them in! If you haven't checked out this brand yet, I definitely recommend it!
It was hard getting good pictures of the mirror packaging, but it's gorgeous!

I really didn't want to purchase another drugstore powder after the last few I've used, but my curiosity got the better of me and I picked up this mattifying powder. I love having a matte look for fall so I was really hoping this would be a great product. I've used this a handful of times now and I'm really impressed by it! I feel like it mattes my skin well and stays all day! I also like to use this to matte my foundation and concealer down before adding highlight and a dewy setting spray. I feel like my actual foundation stays so much longer in place while wearing a dewy look. This is a product I'll be using all fall! Wet n Wild keeps amazing me with these products!

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018  You may already know, but I moved all of my subscriptions to my beauty channel: AllyBrianne   You can check out my unboxings there of all of my monthly and seasonal subscriptions.  The reason I'm posting this blog today is because I just got this months Ricky's Cult Crushes in the mail last week. I planned on filming a quick unboxing to post Sunday, but my weekend got away from me so here we are. This is only my second month receiving this subscription. I'm up in the air about it honestly. Last months ( Ricky's Cult Crushes // April 2018 ) was a good box, but sadly the pans in the eyeshadow palette kept falling out! You can see all that business in the video! I was disappointed because the shadows were great.. The packaging not so much.  If you don't know what  Ricky's Cult Crushes is... It is a $11 (now $14, I'll explain) monthly subscription that has mainly beauty items. This is a subscription throug
