Cleansers | Skincare

I am always testing out a new cleanser. I love finding new skincare loves and like to share my experience/results with you guys. That's why I started sharing each of them on my Skincare Sunday's on my YouTube channel. I always (ALWAYS) want to say how different everyones skin is and how different everyone skin needs are too. What works for me might not work for you, what works for you might not work for me, and that's okay. I still hope this is a helpful breakdown of cleansers I have tried to help you decide which one would work for you. A little background.. I have combo-to-dry skin, can be sensitive at times, awful pores, and acne prone. Incase I miss anything in this blog I will link each video I did on these cleansers below so that you can fully check in on the one that you are most interested in. I tried all of these for 6+ weeks at a time and here are my honest thoughts.

Where to begin with this one. I had a love hate relationship with this cleanser because I was actually really excited to try this one out, but it just didn't work for my skin. This is a clear gel that has what looks like glitter specks.. No they aren't chunky glitter or anything crazy. I even said that in the video, but someone pointed out it is apparently "gold specks" that might be why the price tag is $29 for a cleanser, but that's some cheap "gold." Regardless it does have a boujee fragrance to it and lathers nicely. What didn't work for me was how dry and almost striped feeling it left my skin. I had to always hurry and go straight into the rest of my lineup because I couldn't stand the dryness it left my skin feeling. I also never noticed a huge change in my skin while using this. Sure it did the job cleansing my skin, but my breakouts were still there and my skin stayed more dry than anything. This cleanser claims it is for all skin types, but I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone with dry skin or acne prone skin. I have seen amazing reviews on it for people with oily skin or aging skin. I have seen it is a very loved one so if this one worked for you that is great!

On another note if you have acne prone skin.. Look no further! I have to say having this whole line up (cleanser, toner, blackhead mask, breakout cream, & moisturizer) will take your skin to the next level, but if you only get the cleanser you will still see progress with your skin! It is another nice lather that isn't too intense. It has a light fruity fragrance and is super gentle. This line is actually made for teens who are just starting to get acne and we all know the struggle that was and unfortunately some still have it going on after their teen years including myself. It isn't near as bad anymore, but every so often I have a flair up and this is a go-to cleanser during those times for me. If you have a teenager, or you are a teenager, or even an adult struggling with acne I really recommend the Clear Start line from Dermalogica. This cleanser also has other benefits of leaving my skin super soft and helping with texture, but the main factor I seen with it was my breakouts and blackheads. The bonus.. This cleanser is super affordable for a high end quality at $19.50

This milky shiny gel will bring the sheen to your skin by keeping it free of dead skin and texture.
My skin always feels super clean with this cleanser too. I'm a huge GlamGlow fan, but I know some are super sensitive to it so beware if you normally are more on the sensitive side. I found this cleanser to be pretty gentle on my skin and never striped or left my skin feeling dry. It actually made my skin feel amazing and was perfect when I wasn't having breakouts. Although I do like what it did for my skin I felt like it wasn't one that combat acne breakouts whatsoever. I have to double up on other skincare and masking to tame the breakouts while using this cleanser. When my skin was clear this one was still a great one for keeping my skin clean and plump. The price tag is $28 which is pretty reasonable for a GlamGlow product.

You have to get over my idiot self calling this "bio-tic" throughout the video, but I liked the breakdown I did on this cleanser in the video. It is a super nice and gentle cleanser. It is a pH-balanced yogurt cleanser that was super soothing and helped with any inflammation and acne. The gel is light and doesn't foam up on the skin. It was light, but got the job done. I really enjoy this one for keeping my skin soft and clear. This is one I would 100% recommend to anyone because I feel it could work for anyone with any skin issues. The hardball with this one is the price at $35 which probably made you cringe too.
If you can/want to splurge give it a go though.

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018  You may already know, but I moved all of my subscriptions to my beauty channel: AllyBrianne   You can check out my unboxings there of all of my monthly and seasonal subscriptions.  The reason I'm posting this blog today is because I just got this months Ricky's Cult Crushes in the mail last week. I planned on filming a quick unboxing to post Sunday, but my weekend got away from me so here we are. This is only my second month receiving this subscription. I'm up in the air about it honestly. Last months ( Ricky's Cult Crushes // April 2018 ) was a good box, but sadly the pans in the eyeshadow palette kept falling out! You can see all that business in the video! I was disappointed because the shadows were great.. The packaging not so much.  If you don't know what  Ricky's Cult Crushes is... It is a $11 (now $14, I'll explain) monthly subscription that has mainly beauty items. This is a subscription throug

I don't know what took so long this month whether it was Ipsy or just USP
