Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place // Foundation Review

Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place // Foundation Review

You guys may have seen that I tried out the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation for the first time about 3 months ago. Since then I have worked with this foundation over and over trying to find the perfect ways to apply it without it being super drying. The biggest factor in not trying this foundation in the first place was the shade range. It was awful! They finally released this shade which is 1C0 Shell - very light with cool pink undertones.  This was my only option. I'm very fair (ginger fair) and although I am a redhead I prefer neutral shades. This particular shade is cool tone. Although I can "make it work" I would like it to actually be a good go-to since it's $42! The coverage is bomb, it is a tad drying (I'm combo-to-dry skin type), and it lasts pretty decently, but God forbid you accidentally rub your nose.. (watch first impressions to see that issue).. Definitely pros and cons with this one. Three months pass and here I am playing catch up on blogs I should've had up months
ago, when I realized THEY DROPPED ANOTHER SHADE!
0N1 Alabaster - lightest with neutral undertones
Are you kidding me?! I'm sure this would be the perfect match, yet most Ulta Beauty and Sephora Stores either don't carry it "in store, only online" or they don't carry the lightest shades in store to color match..
Rant over, but still this is a high end foundation, high end brand in general.. They should have their shit together by now!
A hydrating primer has been key for me with my skin type. For best application keep your skin moisturized and exfoliated of course! I also only powder where I've laid down concealer and/or where I crease at, otherwise I get too dry. I also bought the Double Wear Concealer because of the awesome reviews on it.. If you're fair like me you may want to skip on it. It's good, but the lightest shade is darker than their lightest shade of foundation! I get best coverage with a brush (I like paring it up with the Morphe E6 or the XO Beauty Flat Face Brush) , but for the finish I like to dab my beauty sponge over the application before I go into concealer.
The packaging seems really nice.. Glass bottle, gold lid, bougie, etc. until you twist the lid off to no pump. It's a pour out bottle and I honestly hate that. You can get on the Estée Lauder website and BUY a pump for $10 after you just spent $42 on their foundation...

Overall, I like it most for the coverage. It's not my absolute favorite. I will use it and one of these days (if I don't find a better option by then) I will finish it and buy the lighter shade. The coverage does get me and I would use this 4826597364 times over the Jouer Full Coverage Foundation!

Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation is a  7/10 for me!

I used the shade: 1C0 Shell
Skin Tone: Fair with neutral undertones
Skintype: Combo-to-dry

You can get yours at Ulta or Sephora! $42

I'm wearing the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation in this makeup look. If you want to see how I created the rest of the look:

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018  You may already know, but I moved all of my subscriptions to my beauty channel: AllyBrianne   You can check out my unboxings there of all of my monthly and seasonal subscriptions.  The reason I'm posting this blog today is because I just got this months Ricky's Cult Crushes in the mail last week. I planned on filming a quick unboxing to post Sunday, but my weekend got away from me so here we are. This is only my second month receiving this subscription. I'm up in the air about it honestly. Last months ( Ricky's Cult Crushes // April 2018 ) was a good box, but sadly the pans in the eyeshadow palette kept falling out! You can see all that business in the video! I was disappointed because the shadows were great.. The packaging not so much.  If you don't know what  Ricky's Cult Crushes is... It is a $11 (now $14, I'll explain) monthly subscription that has mainly beauty items. This is a subscription throug

August Ipsy Glam Bag

If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample sized beauty products. I've been getting one for two and an half  years  now. I don't know what took so long this month whether it was Ipsy or just USP
