Morphe x Jeffree Star // Makeup Monday

Morphe x Jeffree Star // Makeup Monday

I've been a little MIA ever since I started filming for Halloween, but blogs are coming! Happy Makeup Monday! Are we even ready to talk about this drama-filled launch? I feel like Jeffree had good intentions working with Morphe, but like a lot of others, I'm still trying to process why they would create a palette together in Morphe's formula instead of Jeffree Star Cosmetics formula.
I feel like everyone wants a brush collab with Morphe because the quality is bomb and I thought that idea with Jeffree was great! Even the lip sets with JSC Velour Liquid Lipsticks and Morphe glosses mixed is such an awesome idea, but still confused on the palette. I have thought about purchasing the brush sets several times, but still, haven't just because I have so many brushes already! When it comes to the lip sets I may buy them, but I already own those Velour shades. The travel sizes may be the only reason I do decide to get them. The real reason for this blog is to share my experience with this palette and of course to show off the pictures I took with pink chocolate covered strawberries. Ha!

This palette does have some very Jeffree shades, but at the same time, I'm still not the hugest fan of this layout of shades together. I actually appreciate the overkill of neutral transition shades because most palettes don't have enough or the right undertones in the shades. I swear Jeffree makes the best transition shades! There are several of them here, but all of them pull different on the lids/crease to start each look differently which I love. I like that each row is sorta its own color story, but at the same time, I wish they focused on the campaign pictures which are bright with pink and green. I would've been sold on that without all the warm shades throwing me off. I feel like you can achieve a  lot of looks with this palette which is great, but don't expect it to be as good as JSC palettes. I do like some of Morphe's palettes a lot, but some shades seem to apply uneven and choppy. I did experience that with a few of the more intense shades in this palette and I feel like if it was in JSC formula that wouldn't have happened. I can say all these shades wore really well and are really gorgeous with the exception that since some are pressed pigments they may (and will) stain your lids. I overall think Jeffree took a hit for this collab, but know he will be bouncing back with his upcoming Jeffree x Shane palette with HIS formula. You can check out my 4 looks 1 palette on this collab to see more of my thoughts.

I feel like I bought the palette in a way that was more curious than anything, but I was really excited about the launch of this setting mist! I absolutely love Morphe's Continuous Setting Mist so I just knew this would be a hit. Plus it's scented like strawberries with the name Star-Berry, but I was sadly mistaken. I feel like the spray is off maybe it's just my bottle, but it's so light that barely anything happens. I feel like the original has more to it in that area. This is the same formula, but it has extra ingredients added which may have been the reason for a change in that. I was also disappointed in the scent that doesn't smell of strawberries, but of a scent that I can't quite pinpoint, but it isn't a favorite of mine. I was more than anything bummed because I had been out of their original for a while and needed to repurchase it and went with this one instead. I will repurchase their original for sure.

Beauty Tuesday

For my first " Beauty Tuesday", I thought I would start it off with my May Ipsy bag. If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample size beauty products. This June marks two years that I've received a bag. Even though some bags are hit or miss, I've continued to be subscribed so I can try out new items. I feel like Ipsy has really upped their game this year and I've loved every bag I've gotten. I'll be sharing my bag with you every month with my own personal review of the bag itself, and each product in it. I'll also blog about how certain makeup wears, feels, and my own opinion of the product. The same for skincare products, and how they work with my skin type.  I hope you enjoy my May 2017 Glam Bag (If you're interested in subscribing to Ipsy's monthly Glam Bag, I'll post the link down below). I'm more into Ipsy for the actual products and not the bags, but I'll admit the ba

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018

Ricky's Cult Crushes // May 2018  You may already know, but I moved all of my subscriptions to my beauty channel: AllyBrianne   You can check out my unboxings there of all of my monthly and seasonal subscriptions.  The reason I'm posting this blog today is because I just got this months Ricky's Cult Crushes in the mail last week. I planned on filming a quick unboxing to post Sunday, but my weekend got away from me so here we are. This is only my second month receiving this subscription. I'm up in the air about it honestly. Last months ( Ricky's Cult Crushes // April 2018 ) was a good box, but sadly the pans in the eyeshadow palette kept falling out! You can see all that business in the video! I was disappointed because the shadows were great.. The packaging not so much.  If you don't know what  Ricky's Cult Crushes is... It is a $11 (now $14, I'll explain) monthly subscription that has mainly beauty items. This is a subscription throug

August Ipsy Glam Bag

If you're not familiar with Ipsy, it's a monthly subscription bag with 4-5 full and/or sample sized beauty products. I've been getting one for two and an half  years  now. I don't know what took so long this month whether it was Ipsy or just USP
